Port of Kristiansand

Harbour Information, Terminals and Facilities
(Kristiansand, Vest Agder, Norway)

Located on the southern coast of Norway, the Port of Kristiansand has ferry connections to Sweden, Denmark and the UK and handles millions of passengers annually. Facilities at the ferry terminal are excellent and feature air-conditioning, public telephones, and a convenience store.

Disabled facilities at the port are also good, with easy wheelchair access and adapted toilets and telephones.

In addition, designated disabled parking spaces are available in the car park, which features short-term and long-term parking.

Ferry Services

There are essentially two ferry services that operate from Kristiansand; routes include Kristiansand to Göthenburg (starting and finishing in Newcastle) and Kristiansand to Hirsthals. DFDS Seaways runs the Newcastle to Kristiansand to Göthenburg route twice weekly, which takes just over 24 hours. The journey from Kristiansand to Newcastle is an overnight service with excellent passenger cabins and facilities.

Color Line runs the Kristiansand to Hirsthals (Denmark) service, a popular year-round service with both slow and fast conventional ferry ships making the crossing four times per day. Crossing times are 2 hours, 30 minutes for the fast ferry and 4 hours, 30 minutes for the slower service. Onboard facilities again are excellent.
